The smell of gasoline was intense.....this was the best shoot we could get, although it was one of those "you had to be there" experiences!

Amazing shots!! Chris, I think you have a career as a photo journalist. I'm glad you got that new camera!!
The fire breathing picture just replaced my BSG background congrats!
wow dave...we are honored!
Hey Chris, you can flip like that, what's up, you didn't join in?
Hey, we all at the Birdseye house, want to know what the guys with the "basketballs or gourds" are doing with the fire breathers?
Oh, those are gourds that they play during the whole show to impress the imere. I wish you could see where I put myself to take that picture, It was the Imere, in front of him are about twenty of his guards and his court sitting on the ground, then about three photographers (who are African) and then ME!! The white guy! It was ballsy even for ME. By the way, the guards had swords and guns!!!!
Chris, here are the kids letters:
Dear Chris,
How are you? I miss you so much. Are you having a good time? Your wife is very beautiful. She looks like she is very nice. It looks like you are having fun. I hope you come back to visit us sometime. If you come back to visit you might surprise me!
From: Samanatha C.
Hey Chris,
I read your blog. Sounds like you’re having a lot of fun in Abuja. I guess you decided on the Xbox 360. Last time we talked about game systems you couldn’t decide if you wanted the 360 or the PS3. I actually got one too. One of my good friends gave it to me.
That fish looked really tasty (the picture of Lauren eating the fish). I would never do that. Anyways, write back and keep enjoying yourself.
Sincerely your good friend,
Josh Pu.
Chris,
It’s wonderful that you are doing well. I really like the September 22, 2008 pictures. So how many children do you have in your classes? I hope you guys are safe and careful.

Hi Chris, It’s Jeremy.
How are you? Long time no see. The pictures look great and keep having fun. I hope you like it there, we miss you here! From: Jeremy
Samantha- Lauren is great and I will surprise you someday when I visit.
Josh- Those fish were so good but they look really creepy! The xbox is amazing, we use it mostly for a DVD player these days.
Stacy- I have about 150 kids O work with each week from grades 5-10. That's 9 different classes. I'm always carful, my skill is making it look like I'm about to die all the time!
Jeremy- Thank for the props on the photos. Some of those pic.s were not easy to get.
